AT WHAT AGE CAN YOU START TRAINING PUPPIES?
DG9-K9 would recommend training to start as early as 8 weeks.
WHERE ARE THE DOG TRAINING CLASSES?
Classes are currently at the Millennium Centre Stranraer.
HOW LONG DOES A TRAINING CLASS LAST?
Each training block is for 6 weeks. Each class lasts for 1 hour.
DO YOU DO 1 TO 1 OUT WITH STRANRAER?
Yes. DG9-K9 will travel outwith the area. Prices vary depending on distance.
WHEN ARE THE TRAINING CLASSES?
Classes are mostly on a Saturday morning.
WHAT METHODS DO YOU USE?
DG9-K9 uses reward based training with something that the dog enjoys.
WHAT LEAD AND COLLAR IS RECOMMENDED FOR A SMALL PUPPY?
DG9-K9 suggests using a cat collar and lead in the first instance as this is light and helps the puppy adjust to the sensation of collar and walking on a lead.
WHERE DO YOUR SOCIALISATION WALKS TAKE PLACE?
In and around the local area utilising community events etc. depending upon the needs of the group. Can be organised in other areas as and when sufficient dogs in group for best training / socialisation benefits.
